A skilled nursing visit (SNV) is a nurse visit by an RN or LPN to initiate and complete a professional nursing task as assessed to meet their home health needs. A skilled nursing visit can include the following services:
- Hands-on nursing care
- Trach and vent monitoring and management
- Patient and family teaching regarding their plan of care treatment and disease processes
- Observe assess document and report the client’s physical status
- Wound care/monitoring
- Catheter care
- Nutritional assessment and weight check
- Enteral feeding technique
- Medication compliance
